I had the idea of illustrating dogs and assigning them to the months of the year to create a cute and whimsical calendar. Rather than focusing on the calendar design itself, I did more experimentation with my dog illustrations in terms of playing with textures, colors, and funny little expressions. I imagined it to be a little more kid friendly, with a simple font but entertaining illustrations. I used my favorite chalk brush in Procreate for line work, and lightly brushed in colors with a paint brush. I also used the same chalk brush for the lettering, which is a little twist on my regular personal handwriting with some curly and wavy qualities.
